Mohali, February 10, 2020: Taking strict action in accordance with the directions of the Transport Department, Punjab, the Regional Transport Authority, S. A. S. Nagar has challaned 26 buses with in the span of 2 days for playing loud music and lewd songs. He also added that the drive would continue.
Disclosing this here today, the RTA, S. A. S. Nagar Sukhwinder Kumar said that strict action has also been taken against the overloaded vehicles which is evident from the fact that last month, overloaded vehicles, and those plying without tax were challaned and fine to the tune of Rs. 76 lakh was collected.
The RTA also divulged that last month, 96 challans were issued to the vehicles having temporary numbers who didn’t get RCs made during the fixed time frame and were plying vehicles without RC. He appealed to to such vehicle owners to get their RCs made at the earliest in order to avoid challaning because failing this, their vehicles would be bound.
