Bollywood drug dealings: Talent Management Agencies on NCB radar

Mumbai, September 23, 2020: The ambit of the investigations into the death of Sushant Singh Rajput is becoming bigger and bigger.
Three agencies are involved in the investigation right now with a fourth rumoured to be joining in soon.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) are already investigating the case, while the National Investigation Agency (NIA) is likely to be the fourth agency considering that national security issues seem to be emerging as information about drug dealing makes the case murkier and murkier.
The NCB seems to have zeroed in on Talent Management Agencies as being involved in the drug trade.
The CEO and some Managers of one talent management agency, Kwan, have already been summoned by the NCB and questioned after some of its employees allegedly had drugs-related conversations with their clients.
KWAN CEO Dhruv Chitgopekar came to the Bombay Port Trust guest house for questioning by the NCB.
KWAN employee and Sushant Singh Rajput’s talent manager Jaya Saha was also interrogated by the agencies.
Deepika Padukone’s manager, Karishma Prakash, who is an employee of KWAN, was also summoned.
However, she has not yet joined the probe.
It is believed that the probe agencies are also planning to investigate a number of other such agencies who are representing actors and other people from the glamour world for the last few years.
The producer of several blockbuster films like Udta Punjab, Ghajini etc., Madhu Mantena Verma, was also questioned by the NCB
The CBI has recorded the statement of Saha and Sushant’s manager Shruti Modi on several occasions during the ongoing probe
According to unconfirmed reports, the agencies are also prepared to summon Bollywood actors Shraddha Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, Rakul Preet Singh fashion designer Simone Kabhatta and a number of A-listers.
Bollywood’s alleged drug links have come under the scanner during an investigation into Sushant Singh Rajput’s death.
His girlfriend, Rhea Chakraborty, was arrested on September 8 for procuring drugs and is currently lodged at Byculla jail.
She was remanded to 14-day judicial custody, but yesterday, a special court extended her judicial custody till October 6.
The NCB has registered a case under several sections of the NDPS Act on the request of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) after the financial probe agency found several alleged chats of Sushant’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik discussing drugs.
Rhea and Showik Chakraborty, Sushant’s house manager Samuel Miranda, Sushant’s personal staff Dipesh Sawant along with seventeen others have been arrested by the NCB in this case till date.
It may be recalled that Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his Bandra flat in Mumbai on June 14.
