We fall into the trap of advertisements that promise to help you lose weight through boosting metabolism. These claim to burn your calories fast and lose weight quickly. But they claim it in a way that we fail to find the true logic behind it. It is true that a few foods and beverages can help boost your metabolism but that’s not so easy. There’s no way to miraculously boost metabolism. However, some food, fitness and daily activity modifications can help to a great extent.
Defining metabolism in simple terms, it is a set of chemical reactions in the body that keep you functioning well, including the processes that convert what you eat and drink into energy.

• Snack Smart- Eating large meals with long duration gaps in between can slow down your metabolism.
• Spice up your meals- Spicy foods kick up your metabolism and helps you burn calories easily.
• Power up with protein- Your body burns more calories digesting protein than it does eating fat and carbohydrates. This is because protein has greater thermic effect of food.
• Stop Crash Diets- Crash diets offer less than 1200 calories per day and may slow down your metabolism.
