Markfed’s Modern Cattlefeed Plant Kapurthala inaugurated digitally

and Jails Minister
Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa
today digitally inaugurated
the state-of-the-art Technologically
Advanced Cattlefeed
and Allied Industries
Plant of Markfed at
Kapurthala from the Head
Office of Markfed here.
Speaking on the occasion,
the Minister commended the
role of Markfed for initiating
new commercial steps during
the lockdown.
He stated that this plant
would cater to the nutritional
needs of the Animal Husbandry
sector with production
of rich nutritious composite
cattle-feed on scientific
lines.
He said that Markfed
would soon come-up with a
similar plant at Gidderbaha.
He appreciated the efforts
made by the Markfed cattlefeed
Plant during the months
of April, May and June,
2020.
The Managing Director,
Varun Roojam, apprised
Randhawa about the coupon
scheme of cattle-feed, which
is being started in the month
of July.
The Markfed MD ,
briefed about the plant
which is fully automated and
free from any manual touch
in the entire production
process.
He added that this plant
was the latest cattle-feed
plant in Punjab.
Even in the challenging
scenario of Covid-19, the
plant has registered an
increase in production by
240 MT and has led to better
profits.
He added that the new
plant has been established at
a cost of Rs. 13 crores in a
record time period of one
and half year with a capacity
to produce 150 TPD, which
could be extended up to 300
TPD.
Meanwhile, the Chairman
Markfed Amarjit Singh
Samra, proposed vote of
thanks.

present on the occasion
included Special Chief Secretary
Co-operation,
Kalpana Mittal Baruah, Registrar
Co-operative Societies,
Vikas Garg, Additional
Managing Director (General)
Markfed Rahul Gupta
and various other members
of the Markfed Board of
Directors.
