Plantation Drive held at Panjab University

Chandigarh, July 24, 2020: The Horticulture Division, Panjab University organ-ised a plantation today near UIET Workshop.

100 plants of Lagerstomia donated by Jatin Salwan were planted along with plants of Ashoka and Chandni.

The plantation had the presence of Prof. R.K. Singla, Dean of Universi-ty Instructions as the Chief Guest .

Prof. Karamjeet Singh, Registrar presided over the plantation. Prof. Parvinder Singh, Controller of Examinations was the Guest of Hon-our. Prof. Ashwani Koul, Chief of University Security and faculty members of Deptt. of Biotechnolo-gy, Renuka Salwan, Director Public Relations were among the attendees.

Er. Anil Thakur, Divisional Engi-neer (Hort.) said on this occasion that the plantation drive of Horticul-ture Division carried out in the mon-soon season is in full swing and var-ious departments are participating enthusiastically in this drive.

He said that in pursuance of the initiative of Prof. Raj Kumar, Vice Chancellor, the Horticulture Divi-sion is also carrying out a family plantation drive in the University in which a large number of residents are taking the initiative to plant trees along with their family members.
