PU Girls Hostel Number 10 organises Neerja Bhanot Memorial Day

Chandigarh, September 6, 2020: A candle lighting ceremony was organised in the memory of Neerja Bhanot to mark the Commemoration Day at the Neerja Bhanot Hall, Girls Hostel Number 10, Sector 25 Chandigarh on September 5, 2020.
The hostel has been named after this young inspiring martyr.
Presently, the hostel has been converted into the COVID hospital and is harbouring the COVID positive patients.
Every year on this day, the staff and residents of the hostel, remember Neerja Bhanot, who laid her life heroically, saving lives of passengers on the hijacked Pan Am Flight 73 from terrorists..
Warden, Dr Archana Chauhan, hostel staff and the staff of Government Multispeciality Hospital Sector 16 Chandigarh on duty at the Neerja Bhanot Hall paid tributes to Neerja.
Although a few residents wanted to be part of this Memorial Day event, but they were not allowed due to safety concerns.
On the occasion, a two-minute silence was observed to pay homage to the martyr.
Candles were lit in the hostel compound.
Govt guidelines for COVID-19 pandemic were followed during the event
