PU plans to plant 40,000 saplings this season

Chandigarh, August 1, 2020: Girls Hostel Number 1 and 2, Panjab University, Chandigarh organised a plantation drive in the Campus premises to celebrate the month of Sawan .
The saplings were planted by the Dean of Students Welfare (W) Prof Sukhbir Kaur, Chairperson Department of Geography, Prof Simrit Kahlon, Chairperson IETVE, Dr Kanwalpreet Kaur, Wardens Dr Kamla and Dr Anju Goyal and the staff of the Hostels.
Speaking on the occasion, the Dean of Students Welfare (W) said that the season of rains in Panjab University was this year being celebrated as a time to make the campus more green.
The Panjab University planned to plant a total of 40,000 saplings of different varieties during this season.
She appreciated the all-out efforts being made by the Department of Horticulture, Panjab University in this regard.
