Rhea Chakraborty arrested by Narcotics Control Bureau

Mumbai, September 8, 2020: The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) today arrested Rhea Chakraborty in a drug case linked with star Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, stated KPS Malhotra, Deputy Director, Narcotics Control Bureau.
She has been charged under various sections of the NDPS Act for her alleged role in the drugs angle.
The due process of informing the family has been completed, according to NCB.
The NCB had interrogated Rhea for six hours on Sunday, later on Monday for eight hours and for around five hours today before placing her under arrest.
She has been taken for medical examination, includinperhaps a Covid-19 test, to Sion Hospital.
Later in the evening, she will most likely be produced before a magistrate, probably through video-conferencing for remand.
The NCB had previously arrested Chakraborty’s brother Showik and actor Rajput’s former housekeeper Samuel Miranda.
Twitter erupted with messages, both pro and against the arrest but with an overwhelming number of Twitters welcomed the arrest which was ‘long due’ according to most.
