SJOBA Foundation gifts smartphones to brilliant but economically weak students

Chandigarh, June 17, 2020: SJOBA
Foundation, part of one of
the most successful alumni
associations in the country,
yesterday launched a new
initiative in which the
Foundation gifted 24 new
Samsung J2 Core smart
phones to students of St.
Johns School, Sector 26
who were from the economically
weaker strata of
society.
The Class of 1977 spearheaded
this initiative,
which was launched in a
brief informal ceremony in
which social distancing
was maintained.

Tiwari, S.P.S. Ghai, Justice
B. S. Walia along with
Capt. Retd Gurpreet Singh
Pannu, Harpal Singh Malvai,
Roopi Singh, Dr. Sanjeev
Trehan, all of Class of
’77, were present for the
quiet and sombre occasion.
Batch mates of the Class
of 1977 from Delhi are
sending 12 more phones
for this laudable purpose.
With most education
being conducted online, it
is now very important that
brilliant but financially
weak students get such
smartphones, stated a
spokesperson for the
SJOBA Foundation.
