Chandigarh, July 3, 2020: The Resident Welfare Association of the 3500 series, Sector 69, Mohali, in collabora-tion with activists, plant-ed fruit trees on the vacant land in the sector.
Dr. Amarinder Kaur Chouhan, Chief Conser-vator of Forests Haryana inaugurated the planta-tion drive along with the District Forest Officer Mohali S. Gurman Singh.
Prof. Tejinder Singh Brar of Mohali said that a key role in the planta-tion drive was played by the senior citizens of the area.
The pants included Aonla which was planted by Sukhwinder Kaur Brar and then all the other plants were planted by the Senior Citizens.
The fruit plants had been provided by the Principal Chief Conser-vator Haryana and the Tree Guard was donated by DFO, Mohali.
The authorities had ensured to put barbed wire on the perimeter of the land to protect the plants.
The residents have hired a gardener for reg-ular care of the plants.
Famous Hockey Cap-tain and DSP Punjab Police Rajpal Singh, Social Worker, Rajiv Wasihat, Harpreet Singh, Dr. Anupam Jindal, Dr. Sunil Agarwal, Dr. Puneet Verma, many others were present.
