UIAMS Panjab University holds webinar on ‘Leveraging the Power of Linkedin’

Chandigarh, July 5, 2020: The University Institute of Applied Management Sciences, Pan-jab University conducted a Webinar for MBA students today on “Leveraging the Power of LinkedIn”.

The third webinar in this series of activities to be car-ried out every weekend was held under the mentorship of Prof. Raj Kumar, Chief Patron and Vice Chancellor, PanjabUniversity by the Placement Cell of UIAMS.

Dr Amandeep Singh Mar-waha, Training cum Place-ment Officer, UIAMS saidthat through this webi-nar an attempt was made to make the audience aware-about how LinkedIn, as a tool, can help users to advance their career andalso not to waste massive amounts of time on Social Media for non productive work.

Prof. Upasna Joshi Sethi, Director, UIAMS empha-sized that a professionally written LinkedIn profile allows creating an online professional brand which helps open doors to opportu-nities and networks to the students.

The lead speaker of the webinar was Jatin Srivasta-va, who is a HR Digitization & Employee Engagement Strategist.

He is currently working as Business Development Head, in a leading Artificial Intelligence enabled HR conversational chatbot com-pany that automates HR Helpdesk, Transaction and Employee Engagement.

He has worked with various industries including KPO, E-Commerce & SaaS handling the business-relat-ed operations. His key expertise is in Social Selling.

Jatin Srivastava guided the audience on building a strong LinkedIn Profile, earning Job Referrals for Jobs/Internships, Social Selling on LinkedIn and a lot more. He elaborated on how to avoid mistakes and not get trapped into job con-sultants and using referral route of company officials to earn a good job and a great career beginning.

He highlighted the concept of five C’s: Content, Com-municate, Community, Con-stant and Context to be used in while handling your pro-file on LinkedIn.

The query handling ses-sion was coordinated by Dr Rachita Sambyal.

The questions included: Should I pay for LinkedIn? How to I make myself visi-ble to recruiters and profes-sionals? How do I appear in the top search results when somebody searches for my name? What’s the best way to attract recruiters to my profile? Are hash tags help-ful and should be used in posts? How is LinkedIn bet-ter or different from other job platforms? Is a photo on my linkdIn profile impor-tant?

Prof Sanjeev Sharma acknowledged the efforts of the Training and Placement Officer, Dr. Amandeep Singh Marwaha and moti-vated all to keep organizing sessions on various topics which are of utmost rele-vance to the students of UIAMS.
