Without Comment: This year, let us finish the evil within us

Chandigarh, October 25, 2020: These days are full of festivity, but this year Corona has dampened the spirit, even though some people are still venturing out .
Due to Corona, the management of crowds is very important and the government has issued strict guidelines.
Resultantly, the Ramlila fervour has almost disappeared and effigies of Ravan are not even ready this time.
So, we will not burn Ravan.
Dussehra is basically a festival to depict the victory of good over evil – Lord Rama over Ravan symbolises that.
Over the years, the fabric of our society has deteriorated so much that people are forgetting the thin layer between ‘good’ and ‘bad’.
While this year we are not burning and finishing evil through this pious festival, let us use this opportunity to lessoen our own evils, if not finish them altogether.
In these modern times people do not think twice before committing a crime against society.
Then what do we do in this festival … or merely enjoy a holiday which falls on Sunday.
Like earlier we are reading or writing messages ‘to do away with our bad habits, thinking and deeds etc.’
Preaching is the easiest task which everyone will do but it is difficult to practise it.
The human being always treads an easy path so that is being done here also.
The easy way, which is certainly not a short cut to attain better life will be to start thinking positive and to start being a good person for self and society.
There are always two ways – either you leave some bad habit or adopt a good one.
When you adopt a good habit and go by it in your entire life, soon your heart and mind will be full of good things and bad habits will be thrown out.
You will find that you are not only able to survive, but instil good habits in the entire society.
Every time we undertake some task our conscience always warns us if we are going to something wrong, but we do not listen to it.
Let us make a resolution that we will start listening to our sub-conscious mind and follow it rigourously.
The sustained efforts to apply good habits in life with a positive aura will spread betterment in society.
This way we can easily kill the evil within ourselves.
Let us start making efforts to create Ram in ourselves so that Corona or no Corona, we will never need to burn Ravan again.
